The Gardens of Health dedicated to Poseidon
Along the western side of the island, where the wide inlet of Citara extends, linked in its name to the ancient cult of Venus Cyterea, the work of man has exalted the many gifts of nature by creating an oasis of well-being overlooking the horizon: the Giardini Poseidon Terme, the largest thermal park on Ischia. The rich vein of very shallow hot water, which was already used by the Greeks and Romans, made the cultivated land by the sea extraordinarily fertile until the 1970s. It was then that the Bavarian industrialist Kuttner replaced the vegetable gardens with a luxuriant park full of flowers, setting up pools of thermal water from 28 to 40 degrees.
Since then, beauty and wholesomeness have accompanied those who choose to spend a day in the park dedicated to the health of body and mind, in full respect of the environment. THE SWIMMING POOLS
Giardini Poseidon Terme is the largest thermal park on the island of Ischia: highly curative thermal waters feed over twenty swimming pools surrounded by greenery, with temperatures ranging from 28° C to 40° C, three pools with sea water for swimming sports and for the entertainment of children, a thermal steam grotto dug into the tuff according to the Greco-Roman tradition, three "Kneipp" groups (alternating baths 40° C/15° C) with a circulatory effect and a vascular exercise path for the limbs inferior.
THE WELLNESS CENTRE
An exclusive health and wellness centre: 500 square meters to let you be pampered in the name of wellness with relaxing massages, beauty and physiotherapy treatments and rigorous medical therapies by the highly qualified staff.
THE BEACH
